Hello and welcome! It's so nice to meet you!
I'm Laura, a yogi and certified yoga teacher. I have been practicing yoga since 2013. I initially took a few classes to explore yoga for physical fitness, but I was almost immediately drawn into the emotional and spiritual connections that accompany the physical practice of yoga. After only a few classes, I was hooked. I spent much of my time practicing at local yoga studio in Wilmington, NC, until I moved to south Georgia in 2018. I admittedly found myself missing the sense of belonging to a studio and struggled to cultivate a home practice in a new town. The Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020 brought me back to my mat, and I realized how much I missed and needed yoga. For many years I considered yoga teacher training to deepen my own practice, but I started to realize that my passion lies not only in my own knowledge, but also in sharing my knowledge with others. When an opportunity came up to join a teacher training, I felt like it was a sign from the universe to learn more about yoga, myself, and connecting with others.
I completed my 200-hour yoga teacher training in March 2021 through a Yoga Alliance- registered program, and have been teaching locally in Statesboro, GA for the past year and a half. I practice and teach a vinyasa (flow)- style yoga that is accessible to every body and experience level. Off the mat, I am a scientist, cat-mom, reader, runner, and ocean lover! If you would like to join me in your practice, check out my schedule. |
